The drawings and last paintings of Bernard Garo, made of bamboo and Indian ink on exceptional paper, are revealed at the Art Dynasty Gallery in Geneva. The term “Resonance” reveals the dialogue between the power of Bernard Garo’s paintings and the calm of Jo Fontaine’s sculptures. The two artists pay homage to the architecture and geography of places, by using natural materials. Their works of art explore the Earth and its depth, and reflect the strength and supremacy of nature.
Bernard Garo, diplômé de l’ECAL avec mention en 1989, explore quatre villes cardinales aux coins de l’Europe, ayant été marquées par des catastrophes naturelles considérables. Alexandrie au sud, Reykjavik au nord, Istanbul à l’est et Lisbonne à l’ouest, constituent ainsi son « cycle pictural ARIL ». Il étudie les sociétés et la mémoire des hommes, en les confrontant à leur passé, leur identité et leur mémoire. Parallèlement, il peint notre célèbre Cervin, montagne emblématique du pays.
